What this website does not do

  • It does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking tools.
  • It does not set cookies.
  • It does not load fonts, scripts, or images from third-party services.
  • It does not embed our questionnaires. They are ordinary links, so no request reaches Google unless you open one.

Information stored on your device

If you switch between light and dark mode, the website remembers your choice in your browser’s local storage under the name theme. It stays on your device, is never sent to us, and you can clear it through your browser settings.

When you email us

  • What we receive: your email address, your name if you include it, and what you write, such as whether you’re an author or ARC reader and the genres you like.
  • Why: to reply to you. If you ask to join the Pumpkin Patch, we also use your email address to send Indie Pumpkin development updates and invitations to take part. We don’t add people to those updates unless they ask to join.
  • Where it’s stored: in our mailbox, hosted by Bizee’s business email service.
  • How long we keep it: Pumpkin Patch emails: until you ask us to remove you, or until we stop sending Indie Pumpkin updates; other emails: up to two years after our last exchange, unless we need them longer for legal or accounting reasons
  • Stopping updates: reply or email us at any time to stop receiving updates or to ask us to delete your emails.

Our Discord server

Joining our Discord server is optional. Your Discord account is governed by Discord’s privacy policy. Other members and our moderators can see your username and anything you post in the server.

Our questionnaires

Answering a questionnaire is optional, and separate from joining the Pumpkin Patch. They are hosted on Google Forms, so when you submit one your answers are sent to and stored by Google LLC on our behalf, under Google’s privacy policy.

  • What we collect: the answers you give about how you write, edit, publish, read, or make art, plus the contact details you give at the end, such as an email address or a Discord, TikTok, or Instagram username. We don’t need your real name.
  • Why: to decide what the first Indie Pumpkin release has to do. We read the answers together, as research.
  • Who sees it: us, and Google as the service that stores the responses. We don’t sell the answers or pass them to anyone else.
  • If you change your mind: email lexi@indiepumpkin.com and we’ll delete your response. Google Forms doesn’t let us look up a response by person unless we can identify it, so it helps to tell us roughly when you answered.

Hosting

This website is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, it may process technical information about each visit, such as IP address, browser type, and the page requested, to deliver the site and keep it secure.

Your choices

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, using the contact details above.
